Since Daphne is so camera shy, I decided to pursue my hobby of guitar playing and teaching, and to use her website for my own purposes. I have been playing for a long time, and I have not had private students for many years, but over the years, I have accumulated some knowledge that I want to pass on. Since I have a challenging day job, I don’t play as much as I should, so the playing may not be perfect, but as they say, those who can’t do, teach. That’s me.

My musical background is varied. In the 1960s, I was in various bands-surf, blues and folk. When I was teaching, it was pop music and some harmony. My personal preference was Jazz, so I got into Bossa Nova and standards. Then I quit playing for about 30 years.

I’m playing catch-up now. I attend bluegrass, country and sometimes jazz jams, and I still love standards. I am a member of Songmakers (see Songmakers.org) and I sometimes get together with those members to play folk type music.

We have a YouTube channel at daphnedog, and I will be posting instructional videos there. You can get to the channel by way of the Blog on this site. You can also see the book on Music Theory that I published in January of 2021. Let me know if any of that interests you.
